Ordinary Mind Zen Sydney offers a Zen Buddhist approach to cultivating mindful awareness and presence in the activities of daily life.
It is open to beginner and experienced practitioners and people of all traditions. The group is evolving a style of Zen Buddhism that is adapted to Western temperaments and ways of life but maintains the rigour and discipline of its traditional roots. Located in North Sydney, the group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 7 pm to 9 pm.

188 Pacific Highway, North Sydney
7.00am - 4.00pm, Sunday, August 25 2013
Arrive at 188 North Sydney at 7am with a view to driving up to Kuring-gai National Park, or meet us up there at the corner of McCarrs Creek Road and West Head Road just near the entrance to the park at the tollgate at 8am if you live near there. Please bring a backpack with a jacket if it rains or gets cold and good walking shoes and a hat. (The backpack can also double as a good sitting cushion!)
Bring your own lunch to eat and plenty to drink. The day will involve sitting, slow mindful walking and normal pace bushwalking. The round trip will be about 8ks but will not be done at a strenuous pace. The whole time in the bush will be about 4 to 5 hours.
We intend to be back at North Sydney by 4pm.
As we are not using the North Sydney premises or serving food there is no zazenkai fee. There may be a need however to chip in for the entrance fee to the national park of $11 if the driver doesnt have a national parks yearly sticker.
